It is a great intensive for any business looking to move to the area (you just can’t find this speed & reliability for the price). Fiber has been the best thing I have added to my practice. All our patient records are accessed via the internet so speed is a must. I was never happy with cable or DSL. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the service. Again, one of my main concerns as a business owner is keeping costs to a minimum. With you guys, even over the wireless link, we're able to have a crystal clear VOIP connection (two phones here and one at our satellite office in Florida) using an Asterisk PBX. Rutherford County Schools in partnership with Rutherford County Government and PANGAEA have leased a state-of-the-art fiber optic wide area network (WAN) with a gigabit Ethernet network to and from all 19 schools and 3 administrative sites. This network along with the upstream link from PANGAEA has allowed our teachers and students the ability to reach a wealth of educational resources that before were almost unusable due to lack of bandwidth and network capacity. It also allows the students in Rutherford County Schools to access the many resources and educational opportunities that many other affluent school districts have had in place for several years. Our students now can compete with the students in those areas and be better prepared for higher education and/or the world of work (global economy).

Wow! Connecting to the fiber optic network has made so much difference. We tried cable and DSL and I really could not tell any difference between the two After connecting to PANGEA, our VOIP has performed flawlessly and the speed is amazing. I can send and receive files without any concern for having to wait. Even at peak times, I experience no difference in speeds. But probably the best thing is the cost savings! My communications costs have been reduced by over 50% and my staff can finally work remotely and be just as effective as they are being in one of our offices. The Rutherford County government offices are using the PANGAEA fiber network with great success. Our latest speed test results are: Download Speed: 29161 kbps (3645.1 KB/sec transfer rate). Upload Speed: 4157 kbps (519.6 KB/sec transfer rate). These speeds have allowed us to work more efficiently and transfer more data back and forth to the appropriate offices. GIS can now be used throughout both of our complexes in Rutherford and in Spindale. We have experienced little downtime but have had immediate response when downtime has occurred. The difference in cost between PANGAEA’s fiber network compared to a much slower T1 is impressive, and it’s nice to know that every dollar paid to PANGAEA is put right back into making their network better, faster, and more stable.

Polk County Schools could not effectively educate our students without the network created by PANGAEA. Using the PANGAEA fiber network, students and staff in each school and administrative office use digital communication tools for learning, teaching or completing the business functions of the schools. Polk County Schools is the only organization in the county that has 9 "branch offices". Each of the offices requires access to electronic resources to do their job. The PANGAEA network allows us to communicate like we are all in one location.
